I Will Make God Most Important

17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. ”No one is good—except God alone.19 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’t”

20 “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.”

I Will Make God Most Important!

God should be the most important thing in our lives.  The rich man let his belongings become more important to him than Jesus.  We must always remember to keep Jesus more important in our lives than our other relationships and possessions.

36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.37 A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume.38 As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

I Will Serve Others

God has given us many skills, abilities, and resources that enable us to serve people.  The sinful woman at Bethany served Jesus when she poured out her very expensive perfume on Jesus.  It is important for each of us to use what God has given us to serve others.
